HEALING SOUNDS THERAPY
People living with dementia, people living with the effects of individual trauma, and people living with both conditions often feel stressed or distressed due to their "fight, flight or freeze" survival mechanism being triggered more easily than those who don't live with these conditions (hyperarousal).
Music utilising sound frequencies that replicate the soothing sound of a human voice (such as a mother singing to her baby) is known to reverse the fight, flight, freeze response.
Aim to Get Better offers healing sounds therapy specifically for people living with dementia, individual trauma, or both, to help restore calm and relaxation through activation of the parasympathetic nervous system.
